Today, Black Voters Matter (BVM) announced the launch of “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop,” an extension of their hugely successful “We Got The Power” voter outreach campaign, which will focus on reaching Black voters in Georgia ahead of two critical Senate run-off elections in January. This new phase will include a statewide outreach tour on the “Blackest Bus in America,” digital and radio advertisements, community events, and food giveaways that will inform and engage Georgia voters about the upcoming election and encourage them to use their voting power at the polls once again. The bus tour will launch with two official kick-off events this Saturday, November 21: one at Riverdale Regional Park (906 Wilson Road, Riverdale) from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and one at Old National Commons (5495 Old National Highway #A1, Atlanta) from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

The announcement follows the launch of “We Got The Power” in the lead-up to the November election. Through that campaign, BVM launched digital and radio advertisements, deployed voter outreach caravans, and held a nationwide bus tour in more than a dozen states — including Georgia — to engage Black voters around the issues impacting their communities. We Got The Power reached more than 15 million voters.

“With this latest bus tour, we’re sending a strong message across the state of Georgia: Black voters made history on Election Day, and we can do it again,” said Cliff Albright, co-founder of Black Voters Matter. “From the streets of Atlanta to rural communities like Ware County, Black voters in Georgia turned out in record numbers and exercised their voting power. Now, we have another opportunity to make our voices heard, hold our leaders in the Senate accountable, and remind them that we’ve got the power.”

“Black voters have accomplished too much in this year’s elections to slow our momentum now,” said LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter. “In just the past few weeks, we’ve overcome the forces of voter suppression, shattered records for early and absentee voting, and drove election outcomes in key states across America. Now, we are leveraging enthusiasm from Georgia voters and strong partnerships with local organizations groups to create the changes we wish to see in our communities. Through the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop tour, we are taking our movement to build and drive Black voting power in Georgia to the next level.”

BVM’s Can’t Stop Won’t Stop tour is part of its core mission to expand Black voter engagement and build progressive power. As part of the We Got The Power campaign, BVM will team up with more than 40 local, Georgia-based organizations to encourage voters to register, submit absentee ballots, and vote early. The campaign will also include special outreach to historically disengaged communities like young, first-time voters and formerly incarcerated individuals.

BVM will hold concerts, Thanksgiving turkey giveaways, and other community events across Georgia to galvanize voters before the January 5 election. Updates about the Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop bus tour can be found here
