Are you ready to build power in Black communities? Become a member of our volunteer team!

Black Voters Matter is always looking for volunteers to join our movement of spreading love and building power in our communities from texting, postcard writing, relational organizing, fundraising, community events and more!

Our volunteers assist with various issues that face our communities, such as:

  • Voting rights

  • Mass incarceration

  • Environmental and Climate Justice

  • Police Reform

  • Financial Freedom

  • Healthcare

  • Affordable Housing

Volunteers are a vital part of our power building team. Here are just some of the ways that you helped us to spread love and power across the country:

  • 77 million text messages sent!
  • 3,000 postcard messages to residents in Ohio, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and
  • Canvassed for the midterms, made phone calls, and participated at various voter engagement events.
  • Volunteer attorneys worked with our partners to formalize their nonprofit and obtain their 501c3 status!

Start your journey by filling out the volunteer intake form and signing up for the volunteer orientation. Invite friends, family, and coworkers to join you. We cannot do this without each other!

Upcoming Events

  • Join us for our new virtual volunteer event, Texting Tuesdays! At 6pm ET every week on Tuesday, we will gather to drive change through digital organizing. Through our texting campaigns, you’ll have the opportunity to help us engage residents across the U.S., empowering them to make a positive impact in their communities.

Group opportunities
