Black Voters Matter Releases Statement Following the Passing Of Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee

Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown, Co-Founders of Black Voters Matter and April England-Albright, National Legal Director of Black Voters Matter issue this statement following the passing of Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee
Our team at Black Voters Matter is deeply saddened by the transition of Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, a fearless and tireless fighter for voting, civil, and human rights, who we loved and considered a comrade in our fight for liberation in this country and abroad.
She was a true friend and comrade to Black Voters Matter, leading the fight for reparations, protesting, marching, and getting arrested right along side us. When we called, she answered and when she called us, we absolutely answered.
While we are saddened by her transition today, we remain even more committed to continue the cause which was so dear to her, which was to build a multi-cultural equitable and just country and world.
Representative Jackson-Lee we salute you on this day. Job well done!
