“Donald Trump has repeatedly shown us who he is – this latest attempt to steal our vote not only undermines the will of Georgia voters but further proves that he can’t win without cheating. Yesterday’s FBI raid on Fulton County Elections was a baseless unlawful scare tactic by the Trump administration to intimidate voters ahead of the 2026 election. We commend our Fulton County officials for standing up and fighting for the people they serve.
This was a direct attack on Fulton County voters, the largest democratic base within the state, who overwhelmingly voted against him and supported county officials who held him to account for attempting to steal 11,780 votes in the 2020 election. This was retaliation and nothing more.
With the 2026 midterms right around the corner, we are reminding folks to stay focused and not get sidetracked by the smoke and mirrors. Trump’s plan was always to create chaos and confusion to divert attention away from what matters. At Black Voters Matter, we will continue to fight back against this authoritarian takeover, against ICE raids, against spineless lawmakers who refuse to fight for the people. We won in 2020 and we will win again in 2026.
We have the power to organize and advocate for our communities, and local elections are more crucial than ever as we continue to fight for voting rights, fair representation, healthcare access, local infrastructure, affordable housing, and education.”
